Glasgow Bees
The Glasgow Bees group created activities on the theme of Terrestrial Ecosystems - Botanic Gardens. The groups activities were designed around teaching participants the role of bees in flower pollination which they achieved using two separate activities.
Activity 1:
In the first activity participants were challenged to throw bean bag ‘pollen’ at flower targets, with the aim of helping participants understand that bees pollinate flowers. If successful participants won a packet of bee friendly wildflower seeds.
Activity 2:
The second activity was a craft activity where participants were invited to create their own bee friendly flower, using colours and scents which are attractive to bees.
